Vox populi. Does Belarus need Russia’s concessions?

Belsat TV journalists asked the citizens of Minsk what they are thinking about the gas and oil war between Russia and Belarus.

“Some politician wants to pique another but it is the people who suffer,” says a resident of Minsk.

“Russia always thinks that other countries owe it something. I do not know whether Russia will make any concessions to Belarus,” says a young man.

“Russia has been and remains the Horde. But Belarus is a European country! EurAsEC? What are you talking about? Where is the good of their allowances? Are we poor cousins or something?” stresses an outraged woman.

On February 16, the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) has released  the survey results of  Russians’ view on Belarus,  energy resources discounts and preservation of a visa-free regime. More than half of Russians (56%) do not consider it necessary to make allowances for the oil and gas to allied states, even in exchange for support on their side; on the contrary, 38% of the Russian population think it should be otherwise.
