Putin congratulated Belarusians on New Year and remembered Union State


The press service of the Russian President has published excerpts of New Year’s holiday greetings by Vladimir Putin, which he sent to world leaders, political and public figures. Among them was Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

“While greeting the President of the Republic of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka, the head of the Russian state noted that, based on good traditions of friendship and good neighborliness, Russian-Belarusian cooperation will fruitfully develop in political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, work will continue to strengthen the Union State and the close coordination of efforts within the framework of EurAsEC, CIS and CSTO.”

Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and Belarus fully meets the interests of the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

The head of state sincerely wished A. Lukashenka good health, well-being and success, and to all Belarusian citizens he wished happiness, good and well-being,” the text published on kremlin.ru reads.

By the way, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the new leader of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, are not mentioned in the report of the press service of the head of Russia.
