Brest region expects 1 mln tourists thanks to visa-free regime


According to the results of 2019, about one million tourists are expected to visit Brest region (including domestic tourism), which is 20% more than the previous year.

Since the tourism sector is developing dynamically in this region, the authorities decided to hold a tourism forum in Brest in April during the V International Forum-Exhibition of Business Contacts, BelTA informs.

Brest region executive committee has already begun developing a program of activities: at the request of foreign partners, they will be provided with a platform for contacts with representatives of the Belarusian tourism business.

It is planned to hold presentations of tourist attractiveness of cities and districts of Brest region, to organize a series of workshops and negotiations for the forum participants. Representatives of regional administrations, foreign travel agencies, first of all from Poland, Lithuania and Russia, will be invited to the event.

This year the region has been visited by about 35 thousand visa-free travelers — this is twice as much as the same period last year.
