The 2016 Festival de Cannes, one the most prestigious international film festivals, kicks off on May, 11.

This year the the Belarusian film “The Same Blood” directed by Mitry Semenov-Aleinikov has been shortlisted for Short Film Corner which takes place as part of the festival.
Belarusian Kseniya Yorsh will present her film “Love in Porn” which tells the stories of people working in the porn industry.
Belarusians in Cannes
The movies by Belarusian-Ukrainian film director Sergei Loznitsa (“My Joy” and “In the Fog”) were selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 and 2012.
Actress Yana Novikava who was born in Belarus’ Rahachou region starred in the film “The Tribe” (directed Miroslav Slabashpitski) that was premiered in Cannes in 2014.
