Ukraine bans 11 pro-Russian parties and blocks 1,500 online propaganda media


The National Security Council of Ukraine has banned 11 pro-Russian parties, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message.

The banned parties included: “Opposition Platform – For Life,” “Opposition Bloc,” “Shariya Party,” “Nashi,” “Left Opposition,” “Union of Left Forces,” “Dzyarzhava,” “Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine,” “Socialist Party of Ukraine,” “Socialists” party, “Vladimir Saldo Block.”

Ukraine has also blocked 1,500 information resources “spreading propaganda and disinformation.” According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the audience of these channels had about 15 million subscribers.

In addition, 3,178 publications were blocked that “justified war crimes and the killing of Ukrainian civilians.”

On February 26, the Ukrainian Cyber Police created StopRussiaChannel | MRIYA and a telegraph bot. The Interior Ministry has urged people to report dangerous content found in social networks.
