On August 30, the Belarusian leader is celebrating his 62nd birthday. On this day, Belsat TV journalists have asked passers-by what they could wish to Alyaksandr Lukashenka and the Belarusian nation.
“I wish him more wisdom! He is a bit slow. Oh stop, don’t film it!!!”
“Why should I? He promised to give [free] apartments to people! I am a 53-year-old pensioner, I was a firefighter after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. I have no flat. And what should I wish? I wish they gave me an apartment.”
“I wish he paid more attention to people’s problems.”
“I think he is ok. I wish our people were doing as well as he is.”
“I wish he raised salaries or reduced prices to make our life easier.”
“I wish he held a fair presidential election.”
Interestingly, many people refused to wish anything to the president.
