Book House named after Karatkevich opens in Rahachou


The Book House hosts the central district library, children’s library, as well as the first city in the bookstore called “Pershatsvet” (Primrose).

The Day of Belarusian Written Language took place in Rahachou.

On the occasion of the Book House opening, Belarusian officials, as well as culture and art activists presented their favorite books to the House.

Deputy Prime Minister Natallia Kachanava presented a book about her native city (Polatsk), Chairman of the Homiel Oblast Executive Committee Uladzimir Dvornik — chronicles of the Homiel region, Rahachou District Executive Committee Chairman Syarhei Dzenisenka — the book called “Castles in Belarus”, and Bishop of Homiel and Zhlobin Stsyapan — the Bible.

Belarusian artists Yadviha Paplauskaya and Alyaksandr Tsikhanovich presented to the Book House a novel by Uladzimir Karatkevich called “Wild Hunt of King Stakh”. Belarus Union of Writers presented the House with several dozens of books, and the Chairman of the organization, Mikalai Charhinets, presented a book on his own behalf — books by Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas.
