Soon: Belarus to allow foreigners 10-day stay without need of registering

The Belarusian Interior Ministry has prepared a draft law to increase the period of foreigners’ staying in Belarus without registration from 5 to 10 days.

The decision can be made soon and has come into force next year, Vadzim Zabaronak, the head of the department of Citizenship and Migration, says.

In addition, foreigners will be afforded an opportunity to register online. The cost of registration is BYN 23 (appr. $12). If a person fails to get registered, they may be BYN 1,150 fined ($590).

It should be noted that the decision has nothing in common with visa-free visiting Belarus – foreigners are allowed to stay only 5 days in Belarus without a visa.
