Alexei Venediktov, editor-in-chief of the Echo of Moscow radio station, has shared his impressions of his recent interviewing Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
“President Lukashenka is very cunning, clever, he is a hard-liner,” Venediktov said in his videoblog.
According to the Russian media expert, it is very difficult to have a talk to Lukashenka, because he fudged on answering the questions he put.
“He was holding his ground. To coin a phrase, I had to prick his heels with a thin needle in order to steer the conversation on the right course. But I must say, he reacted well, I liked it. He responded well. He answered rudely, but he did it. He slipped away from two questions,” the journalist said.
Alexei Venediktov is known for his informal friendship with many representatives of the Kremlin, in particular, with Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
