Protests against Lukashenka and violence held all over Belarus (PHOTO)


Rallies against Alyaksandr Lukashenka, who has been in charge of Belarus since 1994, and violence by the law enforcement officers under his command took place all over Belarus on August 16.

HRODNA

In Hrodna the number of participants exceeded 40 thousand. The next rally is scheduled for 19:00 on August 17.

BREST

In Brest on Lenin Square there was also a rally of many thousands. Mayor Alyaksandr Rahachuk wanted to speak to people, whom he invited people to the rally, but people started chanting “Retire” They also chant “Go away!”, “Shame” and “Fascists”.

PINSK

In Pinsk people gathered on the central square, they walked the streets to the park. Policemen radioed that 20,000 people were there. The participants stretched a 109-meter flag.

There were also several thousand people on the square in Maladzechna.

In Babruisk, thousands of people after the rally on Lenin Square walked in columns across the city under white, red and white flags.

MAHILIOU

In Mahiliou about 15 thousand people took to the street. First the rally was held on Lenin Square, after the rally people passed through the city center. There were lots of flags and honking, motorcyclists too. All people with white-red-white flags, flowers and posters.
