Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said so on TV channel “1 + 1” on September 4th. However, he refused to disclose the details of the investigation. Avakov added that video of the perpetrators that hit the Internet hurt the investigation.
According to Avakov, the investigation of the crime involved two large teams of investigators.
Belarusian journalist Pavel Sheremet was killed in the Ukrainian capital on 20 June. The car in which he was traveling was blown up by an improvised explosive device.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko believes that the murder was connected with the journalist’s professional activities.
