On August 25-26, Belarus FM Uladzimir Makei went on a working visit to Ukraine.
“Uladzimir Makei gave a gift from President Lukashenka to the President of Ukraine on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence — Slutsk belt,” website of the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
In turn, Poroshenko thanked the Belarusian side “for the excellent organization of the Minsk talks to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine”. He stressed that the Minsk Agreement is the only option for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, at the meeting with the President of Ukraine the politicians discussed intensification of the political dialogue, expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts and removal of artificial barriers in mutual trade.
