Journalist Zhukousky summoned to court for fifth time this year


Homiel freelance journalist is expected in the Mazyr court on 17 March.

Previously, the freelancer received a call from the senior police inspector of Mazyr police department, police Major Aleg Vyarhatski.

Then the policeman said to Kanstantsin by telephone that the freelancer must come to him in Mazyr “to review the administrative proceedings under Part 2 of Article 22.9 – illegal production and distribution of media materials.”

However, the journalist said he would not come, because the police was not going to pay for his ride.

This will be the 5th administrative proceeding against Zhukousky since the beginning of 2016.

On February 24, the Zhlobin District Court punished the independent journalist with a fine of 80 basic units (Br 16,8 million), based on two protocols, he was accused in the manufacture of products without media accreditation (Part 2 of Article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Offences).

In February the court of Buda-Kashalyova district fined him 40 basic units – Br 8,4 million. At the request of local residents, the journalist filmed a video about the problems in the Creamery, which sent workers on vacation at their own expense. On 20 January 2016, Karma district court punished him by a fine of 30 basic units (Br 6,3 m).

On January 14, 2016, the Kalinkavichy district court fined Zhukousky 35 basic units (Br 7,350 million) for the violation of Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code.
