Gigs in support of Lukashenka cancelled: foreign stars refused to come

Foreign stars will not come to Belarus for the planned concerts in support of Alyaksandr Lukashenka on August 8. As a result, the concerts have been canceled all over the country.

The stage in Minsk is already being dismantled. The events have also been canceled in Brest, Vitsebsk, Homel, Hrodna and Babruisk.

On August 8, Tyga, Mavl, Saint Jhn, Jaro and Hanza, Nemiga and Rasa were to perform in the capital, but all of them refused after numerous reports from users of social networks, asking not to support the current Belarusian authorities in this way.

In Vitsebsk, where Grigory Leps, the band “Fabrika” and other artists were to perform, the gig was postponed for an indefinite period, writes TUT.by. Brest urgently removed posters of Stas Piekha, Oleg Vinnik, Leprikonsy, and there will be no Kraski band performing. In Mahiliou the arrival of Boney M., Discoteka Avariya, Kar-Man and Inna Afanasyeva have been cancelled. The concert has also been postponed for an unknown period. Leonid Agutin and Vladimir Presnyakov will not come to Hrodna.

The Belarusian authorities wanted to hold concerts on the eve of elections and invited Russian, American and Ukrainian stars. Belarusians appealed to the artists through social networks not to perform at the events organized by the authorities in support of Lukashenka against the background of repression, unfolding in the country during the election campaign.
