Over the recent five years, Sergei Gerasimov, a soloist of the famous Belarusian musical band Syabry (Friends), has repeatedly performed in Luhansk, Alchevsk and Kirovsk, the separatist-controlled cities of Ukraine, OSINT group InformNapalm reports.
On May 8, the Ukrainian NGO Myrotvorets (Peacemaker) added Gerasimov to one of its databases for ‘violation of the state border of Ukraine in order to infiltrate into the Ukrainian territory occupied by Russian terrorist gangs’ and ‘conscious participation in the anti-Ukrainian propaganda activities’.
Sergei Gerasimov has been giving concert tours in Donbas since 2014. In 2015, he sang for the militants of the Ghost unit in Alchevsk. The musician arranges such trips together with the Russian actor Sergei Makhovikov, who, according to Myrotvorets, provides financial aid to Donbas separatists..
In 2016, Gerasimov received the title of honorary citizen of the city of Kirovsk from the occupation authorities.
Sergei Gerasimov was born in 1961 to a family of professional entertainers who lived in the Moscow region. Now the musician is a resident of Minsk; in our country, he was conferred the title he Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus and awarded the medal of Francysk Skaryna.
