At the MILEX-2019 exhibition, the Belarusian manufacturer “Agat – Electromechanical Plant” presented a special folding shield with a length of 6 meters and a weight of 300 kg, capable of withstanding small-arms fire.
The shield is called “Frontier”, and it is completed with a fire extinguishing system, means of sound pressure, stroboscopes, photo shooting devices. One special vehicle with such a shield can replace 24 special force soldiers.
The idea to create a fence for the protection of personnel came from the Belarusian experts after they analyzed and studied the protest situation in some countries, Syarhey Hapkala, head of the marketing and sales department at the enterprise, told belsat.eu.
By order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, the plant has so far made only one such vehicle equipped with a shield. The complex is already in demand with foreign clients, the system is not designed for the domestic market.
“Our troops do not need such a barrier, so we could not sell it in the local market. Now we are negotiating the deals, we have already signed preliminary agreements with some countries, ” Mr Hapkala told belsat.eu.
He didn’t say which countries would purchase the Belarusian “Frontier”, because first it needs to get popular.
