Belarusian man taken hostage by relatives of girl he refused to marry

Belarusian Foreign Ministry has reported on the case, which occurred “in one of the troubled countries’.

“On July 23, the Belarusian diplomatic mission working in one of the troubled countries received information that a citizen of the Republic of Belarus was taken hostage by armed relatives of a local girl whom he had refused to marry. With the help of an SMS, the man was able to secretly inform the police of the exact address, room plan, the number of armed men and their location in the building. As a result of the local police raid, the citizen of our country was liberated and returned to homeland,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Facebook.

Foreign Ministry recommends to be careful with the promise of marriage.

“If you think that the Foreign Ministry is ‘overdoing it” with the recommendations of behavior in extreme situations, you are wrong,” noted the ministry.
