Belarus to have 10000-fold denomination of national currency on July 1, 2016


[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/RZgOfz5Jtuw”][vc_column_text]As reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader, Alyaksandr Lukashenka has signed the Decree No 450 “On Denomination of Official Currency of the Republic of Belarus.”

The Decree sets July 1, 2016 as the day of denomination of the Belarusian currency. It also stipulates the change of paper banknotes of 2000 for banknotes of 2009 in the form of banknotes and coins in the ratio of 10 thousand rubles of 2000 to 1 ruble of 2009. It is supposed to happen by December 31, 2016.

The first denomination of the Belarusian ruble was a 10-fold one and took place on August 20, 1994. A larger denomination was held on January 1, 2000. The currency then was denominated 1,000 times. The next denomination will take place on July 1, 2016 and will be the most ambitious to date.
