Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya to Belsat journalists: You are doing a great job


Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya found out that Belsat was recognized as an extremist media outlet before she visited the Human Rights Foundation and on the eve of her meeting with the group to protect journalists’ rights at the UN.

Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed Belsat journalists:

“Journalists are proud because they know they are doing the right thing and fighting for the freedom of our country. I wish you support, you are doing a great thing in these difficult times for Belarus.”

On July 27th, a Homiel court decided to declare Belsat’s website and social networks extremist. The reason for this decision was the inspection of the Department of the Main Office for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Homiel region.
