Alleged military coup perpetrators plead guilty on state TV

The state TV channel ONT has shown another story dedicated to the so-called “preparation of a military coup” case.

The propagandists showed a 5-second video with the three defendants. “I plead guilty,” Yury Zyankovich says in the video. “I plead guilty,” says Ryhor Kastusiou. “I plead guilty to participating in the conspiracy,” says Alyaksandr Fyaduta.

The defendants’ lawyers have signed a non-disclosure document and cannot publicly explain the true position of their clients. They are forbidden to tell details even to the relatives of the defendants.

Also, doctor of historical sciences Stanislau Knyazeu says in a story on ONT that about 150 SUVs with large-caliber machine guns were allegedly prepared for the coup.

“We could see them on TV as they chased Gaddafi through the desert. It was assumed under the guise of an invasion that they would reach Minsk heading from Lithuania (there is a short distance, you can reach the city of Minsk in three hours), storm the residence with large-caliber machine guns and shoot the president,” said Knyazeu.

However, it is not explained what he has to do with this case and how he might know about such details.

On April 17, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that a “military coup” was allegedly being prepared in Belarus. According to him, the U.S. intelligence, authorized by Joe Biden, wanted to kill him. Four people were detained as part of the case. The KGB charged them with conspiracy to seize power. Two of the four, Alyaksandr Fyaduta and Yury Zyankovich, were detained in Moscow with the help of the FSB.

Independent experts consider the attempted “military coup” a staged and provocative act by the special services.

The U.S. State Department has denied any involvement of the American side in any conspiracy to eliminate Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
