The agreement between Polish Television and Emitel for showing the Polish public broadcaster’s channels on MUX-8 ends in January 2023. TVP Culture and TVP Woman, which are being moved to MUX-6, will be joined by Belsat TV. It will be available throughout Poland as of January 24.
The change should go smoothly for viewers, as most TV sets update the channel list automatically. However, it will be necessary to fine-tune receivers manually in a few cases. Those who have not yet adjusted their device to the new broadcasting standard may have to purchase a new TV set or an external decoder that works with the new DVB-T2/HEVC standard.
The TVP Culture and TVP Woman will remain in the same slots. They will be broadcast in high-definition video, just like TVP Documentary, TVP Science, TVP Polonia, TVP Entertainment and TVP World, which are on the same multiplex. Belsat will be available at slot 36. There will be one more public TV channel on MUX-6 called TVP Alfa. It will be aimed at young people.
Belsat TV has been available on the national multiplex in Lithuania since July 2022.
