'Stop Maintaining Lukashenka Regime': Five policemen detain Belarusian protester in Red Square


On September 21, Belarusian citizen Dmitry Holubeu came to Moscow’s Red Square, holding a poster ‘Stop Maintaining Lukashenka Regime!’. However, he was detained very soon, human rights website OVD-Info reports.

The Belarusian’s poster was white and red; at its bottom there was a QR-code which anyone who would like to can use is order to sign a petition against the incumbent Belarusian authorities.

Five security officers approached Dzmitry and took him to Kitay-Gorod district police department. A protocol was drawn upon him for allegedly participating in an unauthorised rally.

The young man was released under recognizance to appear in court on September 23. According to the prosecution, Dzmitry Holubeu may face a fine (340 to 680 Belarusian rubles) or compulsory community service for up to forty hours.
