The journalist and former editor of the non-state newspaper Volny Horad Syarhei Nyarouny has been detained again in Krychau.

The journalist was to stand further trial “for distribution of extremist materials,” writes MAYDAY.

The protocol on Syarhei was drawn up for the fact that he “liked” the TUT.BY page on Facebook. He was to have been convicted on October 18, but Judge of Krychau district court Azaranka announced a break in the proceedings.

On October 20, he decided to send the case materials for revision. But on his way out of the court, Syarhei Nyarouny was detained under a new administrative case and sent to the temporary detention center pending trial.

It is unknown what the journalist is accused of now.

After he was detained, his apartment was searched and law enforcers confiscated computer equipment.
