On February 17, visiting the training ground in Asipovichy, where a joint operational exercise of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia is taking place, Alyaksandr Lukashenka commented on the recognition of the separatist regions of Ukraine — the “LNR” and “DNR.”

Lukashenka said that a solution to the issue of their recognition would be made jointly with Russia and will be mutually beneficial, according to Russia’s RIA Novosti.
The official Belarusian media have not yet confirmed it.
The day before, it emerged that Belarus would not receive the requested $3.5 billion from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. Moscow is ready to provide Minsk with a smaller amount of support for Minsk to pay some of its debts.
