Four more people recognized as political prisoners


Belarusian human rights activists added four more people to the list of political prisoners.

They are Pavel Krashakou, Kiryl Ramashka, Daniil Basyak and Ihnat Ihnatsenya.

According to Human rights activists, a Salihorsk district court has sentenced the men in the criminal case. They were accused of participating in politically motivated protests and violently resisting police. The charges fell under Part 1 Article 342 and Part 2 Article 363 of the Criminal Code.

Thus, Pavel Krashakou, Kiryl Ramashka, and Daniil Basyak were sentenced to 2.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony, while Ihnat Ihnatsenia — to 3 years.

As many as 984 people have already been recognized as political prisoners in Belarus.
