People bring flowers to Minsk metro station memorial 10 years after terror act
April 11, 2011, is a tragic date in Belarus. Ten years ago the terrorist attack in the Minsk metro took the lives of innocent people. That day, the explosion on the metro platform killed 15 people and injured about 400 more. Ten years after, people stand around the memorial to the victims of the terrorist attack at the entrance to “Kastrychnitskaya” metro station to honor the victims and remember the tragic event.
Many of the people have brought flowers to the memorial, their number is growing. Around the monument itself, on both sides, there are two female metro workers: every year, the “River of Life” sign is marked by an honor guard of metro workers.
A police detachment is seen around the memorial site. There are also two patrolmen at the entrance to the metro.
