On April 12th the Ministry of Information removed the foreign TV program “Euronews” from the list of the foreign mass media permitted to broadcast in Belarus.

“Euronews is a 24-hour news TV channel that has been broadcasting since 1993. It was founded by the European Broadcasting Union, which, among other things, organizes Eurovision. The previously issued permission for distribution on the territory of Belarus has expired, the Ministry of Information informs.

The Russian channel “Pobeda” (victory) begins broadcasting in Belarus instead of Euronews. It is “a large-scale project of the “digital television family” of Channel One, created to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War”.

The channel will air classics of Soviet war cinema, Russian films and serials, documentary programs about the Great Patriotic War, testimonies of veterans, interviews with historians and experts, as well as findings and discoveries of search parties.
