Zhabinka resident sentenced to two years of freedom restriction for insulting Lukashenka


The Court of Zhabinka district has sentenced 50-year-old Ales Yarash to two years of freedom restriction at home. He was accused of insulting Lukashenka in a Telegram channel. Under Part 1 Article 368 of the Criminal Code, a criminal case was filed against him, reports the human rights center Vyasna.

According to the investigation, on December 17, a resident of Zhabinka, Ales Yarash, “posted an insulting message in one of the Telegram channels” using his cell phone. As a result, this information became available to an unlimited number of Internet users.

Before the trial, the 50-year-old resident of Zhabinka was under house arrest and appropriate behavior.

On May 28, the court sentenced Ales Yarash to two years of freedom restriction at home.
