The YouTube channel of Belsat's Russian-language Vot-Tak project has gained over 1.3 million subscribers

Vot-Tak.tv is a project aimed at Russian-speaking viewers and readers in Russia and other countries of the former USSR. The project was created six years ago. Moreover, even though the work of its journalists in Russia is de facto illegal, Vot-Tak.tv is developing and gaining new viewers.

The project is aired on television twice daily, with one-hour live broadcasts in the morning and evening and a 10-minute news program at noon. The correspondents work underground in Russia, and the journalists take great risks to cover the war in Ukraine. Despite the significant danger, they also visit the areas of Ukraine occupied by Russia.

The number of viewers of the Vot Tak YouTube channel is also constantly growing. It has already exceeded 1.3 million. Fifty-five percent of them are the Russians. Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Vot Tak channel has received more than 611 million views, with some videos reaching several million audiences.

Since March 6, 2022, the Vot Tak website has been blocked in Russia by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communication, Information Technology and Mass Media Roskomnadzor at the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office, for allegedly spreading false news about Russian aggression in Ukraine. Recently, Vot Tak was included in Russia’s “foreign agents” list, further complicating journalists’ work.
