Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka does not rule out that two more blocks will be built at the BelNPP.
“I would not exaggerate if I said that 90 percent of the population is happy that the station is being built, that it will be a beautiful city, that it will all be reliable and good. That’s why, the public opinion in Belarus is in favor of the NPP construction. And we think that these are the first two power units, I think that two more blocks will follow in a short time,” Syamashka said.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is being built according to the Russian project, it will consist of two power units with the capacity of 1,200 MW each. The construction of the nuclear power plant is carried out by the Russian company Atomstroyexport, which is part of the Rosatom. The first power unit of BelNPP is planned to be launched in 2019, the second one — in 2020.
