More than half of the total budget of the Belarusian ‘major’ clubs is made up by BATE Barysau, Minsk “Dynama” and “Shakhtsyor”.
The total budget of the football clubs of the higher league is $21.9 million. This is 16% compared with the total budget of the clubs in the past year. Last year in the top flight were 14 teams, and in this – 16.
The richest Belarusian football club is FC BATE Barysau with a budget of $6 million, in second place – Minsk “Dynama” with half the budget. Next comes Salihorsk “Shakhtsyor” ($2.5 million). These three clubs account for slightly more than half of the total budget of the Belarusian clubs.
While major league clubs reduce budgets, some clubs in the lower divisions cannot cope with the crisis and disappear. For example, this winter ceased to exist FC “Rechytsa-2010” and FC “Byaroza-2010”.
