Stadler Belarus to make trains and trams for Europe


The Stadler group of companies operating near Minsk intends to expand. The company plans to launch a new product line it can use to enter not only the Russian market, but also the Western European one. In particular, such perspectives were voiced by the management of the company during a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Alyaksandr Turchyn.

The head of the company, Peter Spuhler, informed Mr Turchin about the plans to create a line for re-equipment of trams and trains. With this product, “Stadler-Minsk” expects to enter, among other things, the markets of the Western Europe. It is also planned to expand the production of car bodies.

For over 75 years the Swiss company “Stadler Rail Group” has been one of the leading European manufacturers of railway rolling stock. More than 7 thousand employees (including Stadler Minsk) work in the company’s enterprises in more than 20 divisions. The Stadler group includes branches located in Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, as well as commissioning (service) centers in Switzerland, Algeria, Italy, Austria, Hungary and the Netherlands.
