At the moment Putin is dealing with Turkish tomatoes and he has no time for his neighbors. In his 12th address to the Federal Assembly, the Russian leader failed to even mention its only ally – Belarus. Moreover, he scarcely talked about Ukraine, with which Russia is waging an undeclared war. He only skimmed over Crimea which is still deprived of electricity and water. This time the Kremlin has focused on the threats to Turkey and justifying its military presence in Syria.

A lot of Muscovites has taken Putin’s recent speech as a sign of an oncoming war, Sasha Sotnik, an invited guest of Belsat TV program Hot Commentary, says.

“Putin is war. This is the only thing that was apparent today when we were watching this viper’s nest on TV. I cannot put it in another way, because we saw a group of intimidated people who did not know where to go. They are driven into a corner, they have stolen a lot and they do not know what to do next, and Putin says that Russia will fight. As long as Putin is in power, there will be a war. Only the nation or Putin’s inner circle will be able to stop this war, when these people realize that the death toll keeps rising and the bloodshed is unabated. The removal of Vladimir Putin might stop it,” the political writer says.

In his opinion, by the moment Alyaksandr Lukashenka has outwitted Putin who considers himself a great policymaker. Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor’s ban on imports of Belarusian dairy products is nothing but Putin’s revenge for Lukashenka’s ‘flirting’ with the West, Sotnik stressed.
