On June 8, Minsk will host the Day of Multinational Russia. Two venues – the Upper Town and the Sports Palace nearby area – will be employed.

In the summertime, different countries’ cultural festivals are held every weekend in Minsk. Usually such events are staged by embassies in cooperation with the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The Russian Embassy and Rossotrudnichestvo federal agency are among the organizers of Saturday’s feast.

Singer Larisa Dolina, Turetsky Choir and a number of Russian musical bands are expected to perform at a gala concert that will begin at 14.00 near the Sports Palace. In the Upper Town, interactive zones ‘The City of Masters’, ‘Outdoor Kitchen’, ‘Russian Culture’, ‘Touristic Russia’ and others will open. Kids will be invited to ride a pony in Zybitskaya street.

As for adults, they will have an opportunity to motorcycle together with the notorious Night Wolves motoclub. The Wolves are vocal supporters of the intervention in Ukraine and co-organisers of Antimaidan in Russia; their leader Alexander ‘Surgeon’ Zaldostanov is Vladimir Putin‘s close friend. In Belarus, there is a small branch of the club which is reportedly linked to Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s eldest son Viktar.

The Wolves are also known for their May’s motor races ‘Victory Roads – To Berlin’dedicated to the victory over Nazis. They repeatedly made attempts to cross the Belarus-EU border in Brest, but were stopped by the Polish authorities. According to them, the participants threatened the security of the European Union. The U.S. and Canada imposed sanctions on several representatives of the organization.
