Local policemen searched a flat of Mahilyou-based journalist Ihar Barysau, his wife Alena told human rights defender Barys Bukhel.
Ihar Barysau is an editor of news website Nash Mahilyou (Our Mahilyou).
A criminal case under Art.188 of the Criminal Code (libel in a public statement, or in print) which was brought against the journalist has allegedly become a cause to the search.
Law enforcers reportedly have claims against an article published on the website. It covered the story of a Mahiliou-based joint-stock company Director General who supposedly lost a lot (including the company’s shares) in a casino, RFE/RL reports.
