On November 12, security forces started raiding the homes of university activists – both students and lecturers.

In the morning officers came to search the flats of Volha Filatchankava, a lecturer at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Kasya Budzko, a student of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University, and Kseniya Syramalot, the press secretary of the Association of Belarusian Students.

According to Kseniya’s sister, the activist has been interrogated by the KGB as a witness.

After her home was searched, Alana Hebremaryam, a member of the Coordination Council and Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya‘s associate, was also taken away by the officers for ‘conducting investigative actions’. It is not reported what charge has been brought against her.

Artist Ulyana Nyauzorova has also had unexpected visitors today. The girl was repeatedly spotted in silently protesting in the Minsk metro; she was holding a sheet of paper with the words ‘This poster may become the reason for my being detained’.
