The issue of name one of the capital’s streets after the hero of anti-Russian uprising of 1794 will be discussed at the next meeting of the special commission, “SB – Belarus Today” reports.
The initiative to name one of the city streets in honor of Kastsiushka or honor him by setting up a monument came from a reader of this newspaper.
In response to the proposal published in the newspaper, representative of Minsk city executive committee Mikalai Kotau said that the issue of naming one of the streets after Kastsiushka may be considered at the next meeting of the commission responsible for renaming avenues and streets of Minsk.
“The establishment of the monument to Kastsiushka will be considered after calling the territory after his name and identifying sources of funding,” said the official in response.
