Residents of the Anharskaya and Nestserava streets in Minsk have received letters marked “tax office”. Retired citizens were branded parasites.
Thus, the 78-year-old pensioner Nina Kurlovich received a letter with the word ‘taxes’ written in the ‘from’ box.
“I almost fainted. I don’t have any house, a car, or any possessions. So I thought – this is probably the tax on parasitism, which I heard about yesterday in the news, they said there would be some changes,” the pensionner told the correspondent.
The woman phoned the tax office #47 where she was told that they had sent her nothing. Postal workers responded that she was not supposed to receive anything.
According to the post office #47, frustrated pensioners had been contacting them since last Friday.
“Four persons came for a registered letter with such papers. But our tracking system does not have this correspondence. We withdrew the letters and reported to the management. It’s for the first time that I come across such things. I worked all my life in the Brest region, where I never saw anything like this,” says head of department Lyubou Shynyauskaya.
The false letters were sent by the staff to the central office of “Belposhta” for an official investigation.
