Elena Grigorieva were often spotted picketing and participating in rallies held by the Alliance of Heterosexuals and LGBT Alliance and other civil initiatives. She advocated for the rights of LGBT people, Crimean Tatars, truckers and protected homeless animals.
She repeatedly got threats – publicly and on the network – due to her sexual orientation and public activity.
According to fontanka.ru, a 40-year-old resident of Bashkortostan has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Grigorieva; a criminal case was opened.
