Russia’s presidential administration recommended governors to appoint officials who will be in charge of communication on the Internet.
Monitoring people’s moods in social networks and responding to complaints will be their core tasks, RBC reports with reference to its own sources.
Apparently, it is the regions facing the gubernatorial elections in 2019 that will pay special attention to the Internet and SMM. The elections of regional heads will be held in September, 2019 in at least 14 regions.
In September, the Kremlin started to advise the region to establish special posts of assistants responsible for social media, RBC’s source close to the presidential administration of Russia said.
“The recommendation is not strong, but insistent,” the source stressed.
Such Internet communication departments or SMM assistants will be engaged in work with social media, local bloggers, as well as the creation and promotion of information regarding regional programs.
