Joint headquarters: event on August 6 to be held as announced

The Minsk city executive committee and the CEC have not responded to complaints from the headquarters of presidential candidate Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya about the holding of other events in the Peoples’ Friendship Park, which is reserved for pre-election campaigning.

“Our position remains the same so far: we will hold our event where we have stated we would. We have legally submitted a notice to Minsk city executive committee,” representative of the headquarters Hanna Krasulina told Belapan.

According to her, the position will still change.

Krasulina noted that the representatives of the headquarters tried to discuss this issue with the officials personally, asked for a meeting, but received no answer.

Late last week, Tsikhanouskaya’s headquarters announced that a new rally would be held in the capital’s People’s Friendship Park on August 6. The rally should begin at 5 pm. It is planned that Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaia, Veranika Tsapkala and Maryia Kalesnikava will be supported by well-known groups, including VOLSKI, J:MORS, NIZKIZ, TOR BAND and KRAMA. Katsya Pytleva, Vital Vodneu, Anton Martynenka were to MC the event.

And on August 3rd it was reported that the authorities of Savetski district of Minsk decided to organize events in the Peoples’ Friendship Park on August 6th about the railway troops. However, the headquarters of Tsikhanouskaya reported that immediately after the registration of the candidates Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya applied for pickets, including for August 6th. According to the candidate’s representatives, the event concerning the railway troops has nothing to do with campaigning.
