The athlete of 2019 of Belarus, freestyle skier Alyaksandra Ramanouskaya has been fired from the national team, TUT.BY writes.
The official reason is truancy, but Alyaksandra has previously criticized the violence against protesters.
The athlete’s father recently suffered a stroke, so she had to take him to the hospital. This was considered truancy.
For now, however, Ramanouskaya has the right to represent Belarus at international competitions. But she will not receive salaries from the state.
Alyaksandra Ramanouskaya is the world champion in ski acrobatics and the athlete of 2019 in Belarus.

The International Olympic Committee contacted the NOC of Belarus with a request to explain the situation around the athletes who take part in the protests and comment on political events in Belarus, Deutsche Welle reports.
“If an athlete loses their place in the national team because of their political views, we will definitely consider such a case,” the IOC said in a statement.
