The capital is testing the delivery of food by drones, “The village” reports.

The company “Menu.by” has organized food delivery by air together with the domestic startup Dronex. The project has been launched in one of the Minsk districts and will be tested for the next 2-4 weeks.

A courier is still involved in the delivery, who picks up the order from the restaurant and delivers it to the airfield, from where the drone flies to the client.

The flight of the drone to the client took 58 seconds. The total time from the moment of registration to the order being received is 20 minutes.

By spring, this way of delivery is planned to be made more accessible by expanding the flight zone to the entire Minsk.

Three years ago, the DroneX startup won the Belbiz Battle contest, and after that the acceleration program in the Russian corporate accelerator “GenerationS” was launched. The company positions itself as the first delivery service in the world, which allows not only to receive orders with the help of drones, but also to send them. For this purpose, plastic platforms for drones are used, which can be mounted even on the windows of apartment buildings.
