The main criminal investigation department of criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus has initiated a case against the blogger NEXTA.
According to the document, posted by the blogger himself, a criminal case under Part 1 and Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code was initiated against Stsyapan Putsila (better known as NEXTA).
The blogger faces up to 15 years in jail for organizing “mass riots, accompanied by violence against an individual, pogroms, arson, destruction of property or armed resistance to representatives of the authorities,” as well as for training or other preparation of persons to participate in such riots, as well as financing or other material support of such activities.
The criminal case is being handled by the Deputy Head of the department, Colonel Maksim Sviryd.
