Previously, a girl in Hrodna died after being vaccinated with it. The vaccine was used even though the child’s cause of death had not yet been named.
As noted by the Deputy Head of the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Prevention Health Department Ina Karaban, the vaccine was used again, as “there was no evidence of quality deviations of the drug both in time of delivery to the territory of the Republic of Belarus, and in the course of its use”.
Use of the vaccine was suspended after a six year old girl vaccinated with it died on May 31 in Hrodna. The Ministry of Health estimated that the vaccine check would take several days, but it was delayed. Ihar Hayeuski who was then Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Belarus, left his post. Currently, the Ministry of Health has “justified” the vaccine use before the Investigation Committee has announced the cause of death.
On May 31, Priorix was used to vaccinate nine more children, they are no complaints. In 2015, the vaccine was used on more than 226 children.
