Belarusian diplomat openly supports protests

Nasha Niva has received a video message from Ambassador of Belarus to Slovakia, former assistant to Alyaksandr Lukashenka Ihar Lyashchenia. The diplomat supported solidarity rallies in Belarus.

In Slovakia, I represent Belarus and the Belarusian people, who, according to the Constitution, are the only source of power in our country.

I stand in solidarity with those who took to the streets of Belarusian cities with peaceful processions to make their voices heard. As a native of Zhodzina, I am with you, workers of BelAZ and the Heavy Forging Plant!

I sincerely hope that the future of my country will be based on the positions of all segments of society and representatives of various political forces.

The Belarusians have suffered for this right!

Ihar Lyashchenia has been Belarus’ ambassador to Slovakia since 2016. In 2002-2006, he held the post of Assistant to the President of Belarus.

Earlier the protest actions of Belarusians were supported by Paval Latushka, head of the Kupala Theater in Minsk, former Minister of Culture of Belarus and former ambassador of the country in France.
