Basalt was found at a depth of 50-70 meters over an area of 64 hectares. It is assumed that the raw material reserves exceed 30 million tons.
“This is a new type of raw material to Belarus,” said Head of the Geology Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Syarhei Mamchyk.
According to him, the field is located near the village Novy Dvor of the Pinsk district.
The raw material is suitable for the production of building materials, mineral fibers and decor.
