Pyotr Budzko was detained again. He is probably now in the Hrodna KGB.

Pyotr Budzko was detained on August 20 in Iviea. He was deprived of his rank because of his political views, despite serving in the police for over 20 years, reports “Narodnaya Volya.”

After he was detained, law enforcement officers searched his workplace, home, and summer cottage.

In December 2020, he served 32 days under Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code. At one of the trials, he said that he would continue to go to rallies if nothing changes in the country.

A year ago after the election, he was in Minsk and saw with his own eyes what the security forces were doing to those who came out to protest against the falsified voting results:

“I learned then that my colleagues were shamelessly violating the law,” says the former policeman. “People expressed their legitimate demands, but they were beaten and dragged to the police truck.”

Pyotr Budzko was so moved by the events in the capital that he began to take part in them in his town, Iuye.

“After the events in Minsk, I realized that the country had no Law. A grudge for the state took hold of him. I started going out together with the townspeople to the square in Iuye, demanding from the authorities and the deputy restoration of the law, end to the violence, bringing the perpetrators to justice,” said Pyotr.

He says that now it is quiet enough in Iuye, the actions seem to have subsided, but people don’t want to put up with what happened.

According to Budzko, the police are watching him and his associates:

“Even if we meet somewhere in the park, they are already running and filming us. They’re either afraid or just trying to scare us.”

The former policeman regrets giving 20 years of his life to police service but will not leave the country or change his convictions.
