Tsikhanouskaya calls on EU to cancel visas and announce macro-aid package for Belarus
Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya has spoken at the official opening of the ninth session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. A resolution is expected to appear at the end of Euronest, with particular attention paid to Belarus.
During the official opening of the ninth session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed the delegates. Former presidential candidate spoke about the legal default, violence, and persecution in Belarus. The politician called on the EU countries to become intermediaries in the dialogue between the regime and the people.
Euronest is a parliamentary platform for economic and political interaction between the EU countries and their eastern neighbors, including Belarus.
Also, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya urged the EU to simplify the visa regime for Belarusians and discuss the possibility of visa-free entry to the EU and participation of Belarus in the Erasmus Plus and Horizon Europe European exchange programs. Tsikhanouskaya also touched upon the economic aspect of aid to future democratic Belarus.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is planning to adopt a resolution focusing on Belarus.
