Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines suspend flights to Ukraine


Europe’s largest aviation company, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines, has announced the temporary suspension of flights to Ukraine.

German airline Lufthansa announced has that it was temporarily suspending flights to and from the Ukrainian capital starting from February 21.

“Lufthansa temporarily suspends flights from and to Kyiv. This applies to all flights from Monday, February 21, until February 28 inclusive,” the airline said in a statement published on its website.

It is noted that the airline is “constantly monitoring the situation and will decide on other flights at a later date.”

Austrian Airlines also reported that it would suspend flights to Kyiv and Odesa from February 20 until the end of the month.

Last week, the Dutch airline KLM and Norwegian airline announced the suspension of flights to and over Ukraine. KLM said the company always puts passenger and employee safety first.

Since February 13, Turkish Airlines has offered customers the opportunity to return or change tickets for flights to Ukraine.
